May 2017 - Gift Cards
Early in May, the Georgia Parents Club delivers gift cards just prior to spring finals. To help relieve a little stress before finals and help out a little financially, gift cards are given to all the Georgia Cadets at the Academy whose parents are members of the Parents Club. This year the club is providing "Air Force Exchange Service" gift cards that can be used at the Academy.

April 2017 - Senator Isakson's Academy Day
The USAFA Georgia Parents Club was again asked to participate at Senator Isakson’s 2017 Academy Day at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta. Over 800 people were in attendance. Our member parents welcomed the attendees, manned the registration tables, and were available to answer questions from the students and their parents. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their Saturday morning to support this event! We have already been asked to assist again next year, so mark your calendars! This is always a fun event!
September 2016 - Parent Club President's Conference - USAFA
Georgia Parent Club Officers attend USAFA Parent Club President's Conference at USAFA. Our club also displayed our merchandise for other clubs to view and purchase.
August 2016 - Acceptance Day Parade and Picnic
The USAFA Georgia Parents Club hosted a picnic for the Georgia cadets and their family members. TWENTY Georgia families travelled to Colorado Springs to have a short visit with their new C4C cadet. Past club co-presidents Chip and Kim Taylor and current co-presidents Tsali Bentley, Jacque Bentley and Tim Plunkett joined the Doolie parents for the parade and picnic.
August 2016 - USAFA's Outstanding Element Leader of the Year Award
USAFA's Outstanding Element Leader Award is named in honor of Lt. Joseph Helton from Monroe GA, Class of 2007. Gold Star Mother Jiffy Helton-Sarver travels to the Academy each year to present the award. The 2016 award was presented to C1C Leslie Perez, the first time in recent history that a Georgia Cadet has won the award. Also attending the presentation were Leslie's parents, Carlos and Lou Perez, Georgia Club past president Chip Taylor and current co-presidents Tsali and Jacque Bentley. Squadron 19 has a mural painted in their hallway and a display case honoring Lt. Helton. The Georgia Parents Club sponsors the award each year.
July 2016 - Share and Support Social
Kenny and Mercy Kuku, parents of C3C Jalil Kuku, hosted the event in their home in Kennesaw, GA. Over 70 people attended the social. C2C Darien Johnson spoke to the new Basic Cadet parents about what their son or daughter was currently experiencing in basic training. Thanks to Alison McMahon, Sarah and Conner Pinson, Amy Simonton, Andrea Gibson, Lisa Long, the Taylors and the Bentleys for their assistance.
June 2016 - I-Day
Jay and Amy Simonton, parents of C1C Mary Simonton, chaired our In Processing Day activities at the Academy. The Georgia Parents Club is the ONLY parents club that flies in to Colorado Springs to welcome their Georgia Basic Cadets during In Processing at the Academy. The club also hosts a social the same evening of In Processing for the parents who have traveled out to the Academy. Our Georgia club members are on hand for the sweating in ceremony the next morning. Also welcoming the Basic Cadets were Cindy Plunkett, Patty Burney and Ed Loughlin. Special thanks to Chip and Kim Taylor for the use of their home for the social that evening.
June 2016 - Governor Deal Military Academy Send off
The USAFA Georgia Parents Club is also represented at Governor Deal's Military Academy Send Off and the Georgia West Point Society's luncheon for these fine young men and women. Govenor and Mrs. Deal are joined by the USAFA appointees and their families members at the state capital. Tsali and Jacque Bentley, parents of C1C Tsali Bentley, organized the participation of the USAFA appointees and their families.
May 2016 - Hail and Farewell Banquet
USAFA AOG's Parent Club Liaison Bill Preston spoke at our Hail and Farewell event in May. Club co-presidents Tim and Cyndi Plunkett chaired which was held at Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville, GA. The vent was a special time to hail new 54 appointees to the Academy and say farewell to our C1C parents and their soon to be Second Lieutenants. Those parents who had served as officers of the club were recognized for their contribution. Thanks to everyone who assisted.
April 2016 - Georgia Night at USAFA
The Georgia Parents Club hosted our second annual “Georgia on My Mind” Cadet Night where 275 cadets had a fun filled evening of prizes, food, and fellowship. Thanks to co-chairs Mark & Barb Moskowitz and Edward & Emeline Loughlin for organizing the event. Special thanks to Jim Hayden for compiling a great slide show showcasing our Georgia cadets. Also thanks to the forty Georgia parents and friends who attended. Each Georgia Cadet received an Atlanta Braves baseball cap, a Georgia Power light, Georgia flag stickers, AF post it notes and a $ 25.00 Chick-fil-A gift card.
February 2016 - USAFAGAPC Annual Meeting
Thanks to Keith and Tana Wagner for hosting our club’s annual meeting in their home in Milton, GA. The meeting was filled with fellowship and great food. Club activity updates were given as well as officer reports. Officer elections were held and the following were elected for the 2016 year: Co-Presidents - Tsali & Jacque Bentley and Tim and Cyndi Plunkett, Vice President - Gib and Allison McMahon, Secretary - Scott & Michele Riggs, Treasurer – Jay Simonton. The club wishes to thank the service of Mike & Sharon Moroz as Co-Presidents and Heywood & Leslie Hover as Co-Vice President during 2015.
January 2016 C1C / Senior Conference Call
Thanks to Jacque Bentley and Kim Taylor for initiating and implementing the idea to hold a conference call for all C1C / Senior parents to learn about the do’s and don’ts of graduation week. The call proved very worthwhile with Kim going over the week’s proposed activities following by a Q & A session. Many C2C parents listened in as well to get a head start for next year. Thank you all for your participation and effort to help improve the communication and knowledge exchange from year to year.
December 2015 - Georgia Service Academies Military Ball
Congratulations to the 2015 Military Service Academies Recognition Dinner and Ball Chairperson Sharon Moroz. Sharon Moroz and her committee held a wonderful event for all the military service academy cadets and midshipmen from Georgia. Close to 500 guests attended the event and honored our future military leaders from the great state of Georgia. Thanks to Delta Airlines and all the generous sponsors and contributors who helped make this special evening possible.
December 2015 - USAFA Candidate Orientation Program
The USAFA Georgia Parents Club hosted their 12th Annual Candidate Orientation Program with more than 200 in attendance. 85 students attended traveling from as far as Rome, Columbus and Augusta to attend the event. Kim Seabolt chaired the organizing committee. Speakers in addition to the 23 USAFA Cadets who just arrived from the Academy included Nancy Brooks from Senator Isakson’s office, U.S. Air Force Lt Col Danny Smith (Admissions Liaison Director), and USAFA GA Parents Club Co-President Jacque Bentley.
December 2015 - Christmas Cookie Party
We had a great time assembling bags of home baked cookies for all the Georgia USAFA Cadets and Cadet Candidates at the Long's home in Newnan. We shipped 585 pounds of cookies to Colorado Springs! Thanks for everyone who participated from baking the cookies to assembling the bags, delivering the cookies to the Springs and distributing the cookies at the academy. Job Well Done to everyone!
October 2015 - USAFA Golf Tour
The USAFA Georgia Parents Club was proud to be a Tee Sponsor at the USAFA Association of Graduates Golf Tournament in Atlanta. The tournament hosted by the Atlanta Chapter was played at the Atlanta National Golf Club in Alpharetta, GA. Thanks to Andrea Gibson, Tana Wagner and Sharon Moroz for volunteering their time to assist with the tournament.

Hail and Farewell 2015 was held at the Fayetteville UMC. We had a chance to honor our graduating seniors of the class of 2015 and welcome the new appointees to the class of 2019.
